Coco Bana - Afro Caribbean Restaurant

I was not prepared for how tasty this was about to be. I had never been to try this type of food and let me tell you I left with a full stomach and a full heart. The cuisine just hit right, comfort but exciting! I could’ve spent all night sucking those ox-tails and my first time trying yams was amazing! I’ll be back but I’ll bring a stretchy waistband a wheelbarrow so I can be taken home!

The service was excellent. The owner of the restaurant (I believe he was) was incredibly helpful and even assisted us in bringing our bikes inside when we arrived, which we really appreciated. I don’t often have Caribbean food, so I was curious about the menu. Some dishes looked quite spicy, but everything sounded very appealing. We ordered a fish stew served with what seemed like mashed taro on the side. You eat it by hand, taking a bit at a time and dipping it into the sauce. The flavors were rich and layered—I loved it, even though it was quite spicy. We also tried a tofu dish, which came with salad and rice. It was equally delicious, and you could really tell the care and effort that went into preparing the food.

The food in this place was amazing, if you’re looking for authentic afro carribean food, this is the place, my favourite has to be the oxtail, beef patties and jerk chicken shawarma, for the portion sizes definitely worth the price! Staff were super attentive and the cocktails were incredible! A must visit!

Really good food and portions were a good size. Service was prompt. Value for money. Starters - chicken skewers & spring rolls. Mains - Curry goat with rice with beans Okra soup served with fufu 😋

Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, very chill vibes. Excellent service and exceptional food! Very generous portion sizes. 10 out of 10!
